Australia — Cameron Meyer jump-started the Garmin-Transitions team's 2010 season with a big win Wednesday at the Australian Time Trial Championship. Meyer rode his Felt DA to victory in Buniyong, Victoria, blitzing the 39-kilometer course with a time of 50:52. He beat second-place finisher John Anderson by 28 seconds.

Meyer’s win shows that he’s in great form after his 2009 season was derailed by two shoulder surgeries. The win in Victoria gave Meyer his first elite men’s time trial championship and caps a successful run for the 21-year-old—he won two gold medals at the Track World Cup in November and the Australian National Madison title in December.

Garmin-Transitions team director Matt White reported that Meyer put in a gutsy ride, pushing through blustery winds in the final 10 kilometers.

Meyer now turns his attention to the Australian National Road Race Championship on Sunday. He will be joined in that race by Garmiin-Transitions teammates Jack Bobridge and Matt Wilson.

The women's elite time trial race was also won on a Felt bike. Amber Halliday, a former Olympic rower and three time world rowing champion won her first national cycling title on a Felt DA frame a little more than a year after hanging up the oars. She took up cycling to ease her transition into “normal life” after the Beijing Olympics.
She won the 28km race in 40:57.1 seconds, 4 seconds ahead of the 2008 champion, and almost a minute ahead of third place. It was only the sixth UCI-ranked race that Halliday has competed in
